If you’re an astrology person: I have a Virgo moon in the 10th house.

If you’re not an astrology person: editing is something I’ve been drawn to all my life, and possibly the coolest job I’ve ever had.

In classic first generation American fashion, I got my illustrious start as an editor at age 11, correcting my dad’s keynote speeches for economics conferences. That led me through 10yrs of digital and print editing, an MFA in Creative Writing, and all the way to the first cohort of AIR’s Edit Mode fellowship.

CULTURAL COMPETENCY EDITING
I also do cultural competency editing (you may also have heard this called sensitivity listening). !n this capacity, I’m focused on identifying biases and errors in stories that relate to marginalized communities. That includes everything from overarching framing to specific word choice.
